The Williams-Borden Neighborhood does not extend south to the Seawall, but its quiet residential streets and small scale homes are attractive to second home owners as well as investors who market them as vacation rentals.  

Short term rentals can be an issue in some communities. The Short Term Rental Owners Association of Galveston (STROAG) was organzied to advance the interests of both owners and residents.  By partnering with neighborhoods like Williams-Borden, STROAG can be a resource for advocacy and establishing policies to protect all stakeholders.  

The number of short term rentals and second homes in Williams-Borden has blossomed in the last decade. It is important for the owners of these properties to meet their neighbors and establish relationships that facilitate open communication.  By taking care of each other, neighbors build community and protect the character of the neighborhood.
