Familia Amigable

The smaller houses in Williams-Borden are well suited to young families. An example is  this cottage on Ave P 1/2. The "Dad"  was happy to share that he had moved away from Galveston but "Got back as fast he could." Many of these small cottages have had additions and been updated but still retain their special character.

Featured in the Galveston Architecture Guidebook, this 1924 cottage was designed by R. R. Rapp and was part of the first subdivision in Galveston to have deed restrictions. Part of Thomas H Borden's outlot, the 1845 Sandusky "Plan of the City of Galveston" map shows this as the location of Borden's famous windmill. T H Borden and his brother Gail, were both vigorous inventors. Borden's Condensed Milk is perhaps Gail Borden's most well known creation.
